Thank you so much! In my head, I do have an explanation all planned out and such, but as you said, I thought it fit the story better that Aoi didn't receive one. He would've continually mulled over the explanation in his head and try to find some way around it so he could rekindle his relationship with Kai, and then it would've just gotten all sorts of messy.
